Thank you to all the parents (and big brothers) who joined Reception on our trip to St Paul's Library.  The children enjoyed some stories and were the first children in the local area to find out about this year's Summer Reading Challenge!

Job applications

I am having a very enjoyable afternoon reading job applications some Year 6 children have written for the post of volunteer readers in Reception.  They are very professional and will stand them in good stead in the future jobs market.  Well done Year 6!

Fiction Express

I've just been catching up on the new Fiction Express stories.  Hope you're enjoying the new features - I like changing the font.  Sleepers is great.  Reminds me a lot of Doctor Who, I keep expecting a Cyberman to appear!

Special book week visitors

Wow! What an amazing day we have had.  This morning The Gruffalo made a special appearance.  He was very popular, even Mr Burton and Mr Pring wanted a picture!

Then, this afternoon, Andy from Cbeebies came to visit!  The children were speechless!

Many thanks to both our special visitors for helping make Book Week even more memorable than usual.

Book making

As part of Book Week, every child has been making their own book.  Different year groups have been learning how to make different kinds of book.  Year 3 have made some lovely pop up books.

Whilst Year 6 look quite puzzled about how they are going to turn these simple resources into spectacular books.  Check back soon for the results!
